BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack against a group of jihadist rebels in the southwestern countryside of the Aleppo province this morning.
According to a military communique from Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army fired several missiles and artillery shells towards the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in the Rashideen 4 suburb.
This attack by the Syrian Arab Army comes just hours after the jihadist rebels shelled the western districts of Aleppo city.
Over the last two weeks, the Syrian Arab Army and jihadist rebels have intensified their hostilities in Aleppo city, prompting both the Turkish and Russian forces to step in and attempt to ease tensions.
Much of the hostilities are a result of the jihadist attacks that are carried out on the western districts of Aleppo; these strikes often result in civilian casualties and the destruction residential buildings.
