Latakia, Syria (7:45 A.M.) – Approximately, a half hour ago, the Syrian Marines, backed by the Desert Hawks Brigade and National Defense Forces (NDF), stormed the key mountaintop town of Kinsibba in the Jabal Al-Akrad region of northeast Latakia.
With help from the Syrian Arab Air Force, the Syrian Armed Forces attacked Shalaf Hill at the southern perimeter of Kinsibba, resulting in a fierce battle with Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) that is still ongoing.
Shalaf Hill and Shalaf Castle are two sites that the Syrian Armed Forces have to capture in order to impose fire control over Kinsibba.
If the Syrian Armed Forces attack the town without achieving fire control over it, they will be forced to from all their captured sites in order to avoid ATGM (anti-tank guided missile) attacks by the enemy combatants.
According to a military source in the Latakia countryside, the Syrian Armed Forces are currently attempting to surround Kinsibba from two different flanks before they launch the final attack to capture this imperative town that overlooks the southern region of the Turkish Hatay Province.
