BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) recently carried out a counter-offensive against the jihadist rebels in northwestern Hama, seizing the town of Hamamiyat after a fierce battle with the militants.
Hamamiyat was initially captured by the jihadist rebels on Wednesday, but the Syrian Army’s counter-offensive on Thursday would put an end to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s progress in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.
Following the capture of Hamamiyat, the Syrian Arab Army was filmed gathering inside the town.
The reason for the gathering is not necessarily known; however, there have been rumors of an imminent Syrian Arab Army attack in the coming days.
