BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has reinforced its positions in the Al-Raqqa countryside by sending reinforcements to the Ain Issa District.
According to reports, the Syrian Army brought military reinforcements to Ain Issa in northwestern Al-Raqqa to protect their positions from the encroaching Turkish-backed militants.
The reinforcements were said to have positioned themselves along the Aleppo-Hasakah Highway (M-4), where they will be tasked with protecting the area.
The reinforcements also arrived heavy equipment and armored vehicles, which were later deployed along the highway.
This latest deployment by the Syrian Army comes shortly after the Turkish-backed militants targeted their positions from the Tal Abyad crossing in northwestern Al-Raqqa.
The Syrian Arab Army has been deployed inside the Ain Issa District since October 2019; this followed an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on protecting the areas east of the Euphrates.
