ALEPPO, SYRIA (3:05 P.M.) – The Islamist rebels of Fatah Halab are having a rough day in the northeastern sector of Aleppo, as they suffer another disheartening defeat near the strategic Hanano District.

The Syrian Armed Forces began the day by capturing Talat Bureij and Majbal Al-Zafit after a fierce battle with the Fatah Halab militants.

Following the capture of Talat Bureij and Majbat Al-Zafit, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to seize Tal ‘Oweija, which overlooks a large portion of the ‘Oweija District in northeast Aleppo.

With these sites under their control, the Syrian Armed Forces turned their attention to Tal Asfar, attacking this large hilltop from its northern flank.

Once again, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to breach Fatah Halab’s defenses and establish full control over this hilltop that overlooks the Hanano Youth Housing Complex.

The Islamist rebels are struggling to hold ground in northeastern Aleppo and if they fail to beat back the impending assault at the Hanano Youth Housing Complex, they will be in for a long winter.
