The Syrian Marines have officially reversed all jihadist gains in the Kurdish Mountains of northern Latakia after seizing the final hilltop village under the Turkmen Islamic Party’s control today.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Syrian Marines, backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), imposed full control over the hilltop village of Ruwaysat Al-Malk near the Turkish border after a violent battle with the jihadist rebels.

The massive jihadist offensive to capture the strategic villages of Kassab and Salma is now over after the Syrian Armed Forces reversed all of their gains in northern Latakia.

Moreover, this large-scale offensive resulted in a high death toll for the jihadist rebels, as they lost an estimated 70-80 combatants while storming the Turkmen and Kurdish Mountains.
