Earlier this morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 90th Brigade – in coordination with Fouj Al-Joulan (Golan Regiment) and Liwaa Suqour Al-Quneitra (Al-Quneitra Hawks Brigade) of the National Defense Forces (NDF) – launched a counter-attack at the Al-Amal Farms located north of the recently captured hilltop of Tal Al-Ahmar.
The Syrian Armed Forces surprised the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army’s “Southern Front Brigades” with an attack on the Al-Amal Farms just two days after they seized full-control of Tal Al-Ahmar; this counter-assault proved successful for the Syrian Armed Forces, as they imposed full control over these farms located in the Golan Heights of the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
With Al-Amal Farms, Tal Qaba’a (U.N. Hill), and Tal Al-Ahmar (Red Hill) under their control, the Syrian Armed Forces have now reversed almost all of the Islamist rebel gains from their offensive that was launched two weeks ago in the Golan Heights; this offensive was rather successful for the Islamist rebels as they captured the aforementioned sites, along with Tal Taranjah and the Taranjah Company area.
The Syrian Armed Forces are likely to attack Tal Taranjah in the coming days in order to recapture their lost territory and reverse the rebel gains inside this province in Syria’s western countryside.
