BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their offensive in the western countryside of Al-Raqqa, Sunday, striking the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions at the village of Al-Karadi.
Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army stormed Al-Karadi earlier today, inflicting heavy damage on the Islamic State’s deteriorating defenses.
Within a few hours of launching the attack, the Syrian Arab Army took control of Al-Karadi in western Al-Raqqa, forcing the Islamic State to retreat from another village in the province.
According to a military source, the Syrian Army should take control of more villages in the coming hours, as the Islamic State forces are very weak in this region.
