BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their offensive operations in the eastern suburbs of Damascus, Monday, targeting Faylaq Al-Rahman’s positions inside ‘Ayn Tarma and Jobar.

Prior to launching the assault, the Syrian Arab Army received a major boost from their air force, as they launched at least five airstrikes over ‘Ayn Tarma and Jobar; this would pave the way for the government forces to storm Faylaq Al-Rahman’s defenses.

Following the airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard attaked Faylaq Al-Rahman’s positions near the Al-Khir Market, capturing four points in the process of this advance today.

The Syrian Arab Army was able to fortify the territory they captured before further advancing inside the ‘Ayn Tarma Triangle this afternoon.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Syrian Army unearthed a tunnel shortly after advancing near the Al-Khir Market.

No information has been released regarding the tunnel.
