BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:20 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored a new advance in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, Monday, liberating several towns from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) between the cities of Albukamal and Al-Mayadeen.

Backed by the IRGC and Hezbollah, the Syrian Arab Army pushed northwest of Albukamal towards the town of Al-Asharah.

Not long after launching the attack, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies were able to take full control of Al-Asharah, paving their way to seize several other towns in the process.

The Syrian Arab Army and their allies would liberate the towns of Al-Gharibah, Dibla, Sabikhan, Al-Shakmeh, Al-Duwayr, Suwaydan, and Mahkan after a short battle with the Islamic State.

In addition to these advances, the Syrian Army seized at least a half dozen tanks, two field artillery guns, tens of mortar launchers, and several ATGMs.

The Islamic State is now its last legs in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, as the Syrian Army and their allies closes in on the terrorist group’s last positions in the province.
