The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Qurdaha, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance) – imposed full control over several sites in the Latakia Governorate’s northeastern countryside on Sunday after a series of intense firefights with the Free Syrian Army’s “Liwaa Suqour Al-Ghaab”, Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.

On Sunday morning in the Latakia Governorate’s northeastern countryside, the Syrian Armed Forces began their assault at Ruweisat Addou, Katf Al-Harami, and Yaqouber, seizing these three hilltop villages near the strategic town of Kabani in Jabal Al-Akrad (Kurdish Mountains) after they overran Jabhat Al-Nusra’s defensive positions.

Following the capture of these three aforementioned hilltop villages, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade – backed by the Syrian Social Nationalist Party – imposed full control over Points 435.5, 535.5, and 539.5 in Jabal Al-Turkmen (Turkmen Mountains), leaving over 20 enemy combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Free Syrian Army’s “1st Coastal Brigade”.

With the capture of these sites in northern Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies have expanded their control over 63 hilltops, points, mountaintops, villages, towns, and cities in only 70 days.

This is a Civilized Place for Public Discussion

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

The topics discussed here matter to us, and we want you to act as if they matter to you, too. Be respectful of the topics and the people discussing them, even if you disagree with some of what is being said.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
