BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:35 P.M.) – Scores of terrorist militants including a top jihadist commander were killed today in rural Damascus when a Syrian Arab Army rocket scored a direct hit on their gathering point.
Amid the ongoing heavy bombardment of Al-Qaeda-linked forces in the Beit Jinn valley region of western Damascus province by the Syrian Army, a single well-placed rocket fired from a Golan-300 system as killed an entire group of militants, one of them a high-ranking leader.
According to reports, the rocket killed seven terrorist fighters as well as a jihadist commander by the name of Ayman Sami al-Taani.
The Al-Qaeda-linked militants were killed on the outskirts of Mughir al-Mir, a town currently under the control of jihadist forces in the Beit Jinn valley region.
Ayman Sami al-Taani, the high-rank militant commander killed by the rocket strike, is noted to have been native of Daraa province, having come from the town of Sahm al-Jolan.
He and his fellow fighters were gathered in a trench at the time of being hit by the rocket.
