BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their offensive in the northeastern countryside of Hama, Sunday, after taking a short hiatus to focus on southern Aleppo.

Led by the 39th and 40th brigades of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the defenses of the Al-Qaeda linked Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist group inside the town of Balil.

According to a military source in Hama, the jihadists of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham are heavily resisting the Syrian Army’s assault and have yet to concede Balil to the latter.

Meanwhile, near Balil, the Russian Air Force is heavily pounding Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s defenses at the towns of Rahjan, Umm Maiyal, Al-Ma’akr, Tharouth, and Zakat.

The Russian Air Force is attempting to weaken HTS’ resolve at these imperative towns in northeastern Hama because they will be the Syrian Army’s next target.

Video footage of Russian airstrikes hitting HTS’ positions was released by the pro-rebel Step News Agency:
