The Syrian Revolutionaries Front (SRF) has begun an offensive at Tal Harra in the Al-Quneitra Governate, attacking the well-fortified area from the west. Despite rebel claims of capturing the village, a Syrian Arab Army military source confirmed that this was false; it is still very much under the SAA’s control.
The Syrian Arab Army and SRF traded a multitude of mortar shells and gunfire during the day; however, the latter was unable to progress into the village. According to a military source, the SRF is currently 2.5 km away from Tal Harra.
Over 60 rebels were killed during their attempt to breach the Syrian Army’s defenses in the village. The commander of the rebel battalion “Kateeb Al-Qa’aqa’a Bin ‘Umar Al-Tameemi”, ‘Abdel-Mana’am Ghaleb (AKA “Abu Al-Kaass”), was killed outside of Tal Harra by SAA mortar shells. Other militants identified among the dead rebels were the following:
Yasseen ‘Abdel-Razzaq Al-Sa’adi
Khalid Waleed Al-Fandi
Mohammad ‘Abdel-Fatah ‘Abdel-Rahman
Mohammad Yousif Haraddine
Ahmad Fayaz Al-Barakat
Khalid ‘Abdel-Rahman Hussein
Salih Ahmad ‘Awad Al-Wadi.
