The extremist rebel faction “Faylaq Al-Rahman” launched a large-scale assault inside the town of Jobar on Saturday, striking the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses near the Al-Tayba Mosque and Teachers Tower.
Faylaq Al-Rahman attempted to redraw the front-lines in Jobar by attacking the Syrian Arab Army in several areas they once controlled inside the northern part of this town in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus.
However, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard was able to beat back the extremist rebels before they could make any headway in Jobar.
According to a military source in the East Ghouta, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade – backed by the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) – drove back the extremist rebels, killing over 15 enemy combatants in the process.
The source added that the situation is under control and that the violence has now dissipated inside Jobar.
