BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:10 P.M.) – A large number of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reinforcements were recently redeployed from the southern region of Syria to the provinces of Latakia, Hama, and Idlib.
According to a military source in the Latakia province, several Syrian Army units were issued orders this past weekend to redeploy from the Al-Safa region of the Al-Sweida provice to the Idlib-Hama axis.
The source said that many units from the pro-government National Defense Forces (NDF) were also redeployed from the provinces of Dara’a and Al-Quneitra to the northern countryside of Hama.
These Syrian military reinforcements received orders from their high command just days after the entire 5th Legion was redeployed from Al-Safa to the Latakia and Idlib provinces.
The reinforcements are expected to take part in the Syrian Arab Army’s upcoming operations in the southeastern countryside of Idlib and Jabal Al-Akrad region of Latakia.
