BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – A large number of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reinforcements have been deployed to Syria’s border with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights today after a suspected Israeli drone carrying cluster bombs was shot down over the Al-Quneitra Governorate this moring.
According to a military source in southern Syria, the Syrian Army sent reinforcements to several areas near the occupied Golan Heights, including their observation posts in both the Al-Quneitra and Daraa governorates.
The source told Al-Masdar that this is a precautionary move by the Syrian Armed Forces as both suspected Israeli drones that were shot down this week had entered Syria from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights region.
The first of the suspected Israeli drones was shot down on Thursday night when it was seen flying over the Aqraba area of southeastern Damascus.
A powerful explosion was heard in southeastern Damascus that night, prompting many to think another Israeli attack was occurring.
Israel has yet to comment on the downing of these drones, as they rarely discuss their military operations inside Syria.
