BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:20 A.M.) – A large convoy of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reinforcements reportedly arrived to the northern Hama front last night in order to help the 11th Tank Division drive back the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
With several jihadist battalions attacking the government’s positions around the strategic Hama-Idlib Highway (M-5 Highway), the Syrian Arab Army needed to redeploy soldiers from the 47th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division to this front, as their comrades from the 87th Brigade found themselves under heavy attack.
The jihadist offensive on Tuesday did not come as a surprise to the Syrian Arab Army, as the Air Force Intelligence (AFI) forces had already known about Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s plans.
Currently, the Syrian Arab Army and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham jihadists are engaged in fierce combat at the Souran axis, with the latter attempting to advance their positions in northern Hama.
