Minutes ago in the Aleppo Governorate’s southeastern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) – recaptured the strategic hilltop of Tal Hammam along the Ithriyah-Khanasser Road after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

Earlier this morning, several hundred soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army made their way south from the city of Al-Safira to the village of Rasm Al-Nafal in order to help the National Defense Forces retake this area after ISIS and Jund Al-Aqsa captured it last night.

However, since capturing Rasm Al-Nafal, ISIS and Jund Al-Aqsa have also seized Hawaz, Rasm Al-Hamid, Raheeb, Rahib, Tal Hammam, and Atawaliyah – Tal Hammam has now been liberated by the Syrian Armed Forces.

Clashes are still ongoing between the Syrian Armed Forces and the joint rebel/ISIS fighters along the Khanasser-Ithriyah Highway.
