The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) launched several offensives in east Homs on Monday; however, their most successful assault took place at Jabal Jazal, where they seized 3 points from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
ISIS was able to infiltrate the Syrian Arab Army’s front-lines during the wee hours on Monday morning after a short battle; this also allowed them to reenter the oil fields in Jabal Jazal.
However, ISIS’ success would not last for very long, thanks in large part to the Russian Air Force’s powerful airstrikes that fractured the terrorist group’s front-lines with the Syrian Arab Army at the Jazal oil fields.
According to a military source at the T-4 Military Airport, the Syrian Armed Forces recaptured the 3 points that were lost to ISIS on Monday morning.
The Syrian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive also resulted in the expulsion of ISIS at Jabal Jazal in east Homs.
