The Syrian Marines, backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), launched a counter-attack against the jihadist rebels in the northern Latakia countryside on Wednesday that concentrated on recapturing the points they lost earlier this week.

According to an Al-Masdar correspondent in northern Latakia, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to recapture ‘Ayn Quntara, ‘Ard Al-Wata, Tal Risha, and Tal Abu Sa’ad in Jabal Al-Akrad after a violent battle with the Turkmen Islamic Party, Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.

The field correspondent added that the only point left to recover is Tal Malk in Jabal Al-Akrad; however, other than this, the Syrian Armed Forces have completely reversed the jihadist offensive in northern Latakia.

In addition to recovering these sites, the Syrian Armed Forces killed a significant number of jihadist rebels during their counter-assault, including several foreign fighters of Uyghur descent.

Both parties are now firing artillery shells towards one another at Tal Malk, but no firefights have been reported this morning.

Thank you for reporting as objectively and accurately as possible, Leith.

No one is completely neutral in this conflict, neither the reporters, but a confused northern european can trust your reports from the fight for Latakia and Idlib. Most latakia tweets, though, have to be read making some common sense and caution.

facepalm …. turkistan islamic party, stop saying turkmen islamic party. There is turkmen brigades, both are different. From the photos 2 days ago and your admission of dead uyghurs, it is safe to assume it is the turkistan islamic party. Leith you are a great reporter, way better than your pathogenic liar dad, but you need a little tweaks and more accurate reporting!

As long as Syria is a mincer for all the shithadists and mercenaries on Earth, we don’t care : the more Assad eliminates them, the more the rest of the world will be quiet.
Unfortunately, Assad missed a few belgians and frenchs, so, please Mr.Assad : do not ever let a single french or belgian jihadi out of the country! Do wathever you want with’em, i.e making shawarma and selling it to saudis but please, we really don’t want ’em back…

From what I gather, the jig is up. Nations who were training terrorists are now just pushing them into Syria into the most heavily defended fronts to be destroyed. More than 2000 jihadists have been destroyed in just three days in three terribly offensives.

Now, if only Turkey would gun them down on the other side.
