Latakia, Syria (3:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard, backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Marines, recaptured the Zuwayqat Mountains in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate on Thursday afternoon.

Accoridng to a military source in the Kurdish Mountains, the Syrian Armed Forces rained several artillery shells and missiles on the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest), killing several enemy combatants before launching their counter-attack.

With the enemy’s front-lines fractured, the Syrian Armed Forces capitalized on the opportunity recapture the Zuwayqat Mountains.

The short-lived jihadist offensive in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate officially ended this afternoon with no gains made.
