BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:50 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has countered the jihadist offensive in northern Hama, taking back two villages after a fierce series of clashes.
According to a military source in northern Hama, the Syrian Arab Army’s 11th Division, along side the Tiger Forces, recaptured the villages of Khattab and Rahbeh in northern Hama.
The two villages of Khattab and Rahbeh were captured by the Al-Qaeda rebels on Wednesday, forcing the Syrian Arab Army to retreat east in order to avoid being overrun.
Intense clashes are still ongoing at the checkpoints outside of these villages; however, the Syrian Arab Army remains on the offensive at this moment.
