DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6: 10 P.M.) – The Syrian government forces continue to overrun ISIS in the eastern countryside of Hama as part of a wider operation to secure the major supply route to the northern city of Aleppo.
Today, the Army troops, backed by local fighters and Russian airstrikes, regained control of Rasm Al-Tenah and AL-Maksar Al-Shamali towns located southeast of Sheikh Hilal following hours-long clashes with the Islamic State militants.
Yesterday, the government forces were capable to taking over the imperative oil line along with other 2 points to the south of Sheikh Hilal.
The military campaign aims at securing Ithriyah-Sheikh Hilal road which serves as the lifeline for Aleppo, and eventually advance towards the ISIS-controlled Wadi Auzain from the south.
