BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their offensive in the western countryside of Al-Raqqa, today, targeting the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions along the Salamiyah-Raqqa Highway.

Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the Islamic State’s positions at the Thawrah Oil Field; this would result in a fierce battle that is still ongoing at the moment.

In addition to their attack at the Thawrah Oil Field, the Syrian Arab Army also targeted the Islamic State’s positions at the Sfayeh Oil Field, which is located along the Salamiyah-Raqqa Highway, just north of Thawrah.

While some reports claim that both of these oil fields have been liberated, sources tell Al-Masdar that both sites are still contested and may fall in the coming hours.

bcuz TIGER FORCE DOESNT WANT TO BE STRETCH TO MUCH WHILE GOING EAST THEY WANT TO LINK UP WITH OTHER SAA TO FREE UP THOUSADND OF SOLDIER AND ENCIRCLE ISIL AND CUT THE SUPPLY IN HOMS AND HAMA. IF THOUSAND OF SOLDIER FREED UP IN ALLEPPO HOMS AND HAMA FRON IT WILL VERY EASY FOR THEM TO MOVE EAST FAASTER AND TARGET BOTH ISIL AND SDF IN RAQQA. BCUZ SDF IS SUPPORTING ISIL TO GET OUT OF RAAQA AND FIGHT SAA IN PALMAYRA AND DIERZOR . THERE IS NO ISIL POPULATION IN RAQQA CITY VERY FEW THEY ARE FIGHTING
