BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is preparing for new military operation inside the Daraa Governorate, a source from the military told Al-Masdar this morning.
According to the military source, the Syrian Army is preparing to cordon off the town of Sanamayn in northern Daraa.
The source said the Syrian Army is demanding the militants surrender themselves before an operation is launched to arrest them for their recent attacks on the military checkpoints in Sanamayn.
Among the most recent attacks launched by this suspected Free Syrian Army (FSA) sleeper cell was the shelling of a Syrian Arab Army checkpoint near the town mosque.
While the Syrian Army has faced attacks in several parts of the governorate, most notably in the west, Sanamayn’s proximity to the Damascus Governorate makes its security a high priority for the military command.
