BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their offensive in the Jubb Al-Jarrah District of the Homs Governorate, Wednesday, liberating several areas from the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization near the town of Al-Masoudiyah.
Backed by heavy artillery from the 18th Division, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Legion managed to break-through the Islamic State’s lines at the small town of Mazin Al-Baqar this afternoon.
With ISIL on the run, the Syrian Arab Army took the opportunity to secure all of Mazin Al-Baqar and its corresponding hilltop, Tal Ayed Hassoun, in the Jubb Al-Jarrah District of eastern Homs.
As a result of today’s advance in central Syria, the Syrian Arab Army now finds themselves in position to liberate the Islamic State’s last positions in the strategic Jubb Al-Jarrah District.
