BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has been placed on high alert in the Idlib countryside after the jihadist rebels attempted to infiltrate their positions near the Abu Dhuhour Airport.
According to a military source in Hama, the jihadist rebels launched a powerful attack near the Abu Dhuhour Airport last night in an attempt to infiltrate the Syrian Arab Army’s lines at this strategic installation in southeast Idlib.
The source said that the Syrian Arab Army was able to repel the jihadist assault that was launched by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
The opposition forces near the Idlib buffer zone have been increasingly more aggressive after the Syrian Arab Army carried out a powerful ambush that resulted in the death of over 20 Jaysh Al-‘Izza fighters.
Jaysh Al-‘Izza has already launched several strikes on the government positions in an effort to even the score against the Syrian Arab Army for the ambush.
