Latakia, Syria (9:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Armed Forces continued their rapid advance in the northern countryside of Latakia on Tuesday, seizing a strategic mountaintop that overlooks the Turkish border-crossing that feeds into the Hatay Province.

Led by the Syrian Marines and Desert Hawks Brigade, the Syrian Armed Forces advanced north from the recently captured village of ‘Ayn Al-Bayda to the key mountaintop of Jabal Qal’at, where they were confronted by a large jihadist contingent.

Following a four hour long battle with the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest), the Syrian Armed Forces imposed full control over Jabal Qal’at, leaving them only a few kilometers away from the Turkish border-crossing.

With many of their jihadists now fighting in the Aleppo Governorate, Jaysh Al-Fateh has put this Latakia battle on the back-burner in favor of lifting the three-week long siege on the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo City.

Since the day Putin really got involved in the war on Syria, he has used a single tactic over and over again:

When the enemy makes a real push, withdraw as much as need be to preserve manpower. When the enemy is clustered and grouped in high concentrations at known locations, then hit those concentrations with air and artillery, reducing enemy manpower at a 10 to 1 ratio or better. One can always take the land back, provided the enemy has suffered 10 casualties for every 1 you suffer for a long enough time period.

Like clockwork. Every time!

mvm199 .

Im no rat supporter but you are dreaming with this 10:1 ratio. In aleppo its about 1:1 in reality despite what propaganda you read. Sadly. And kinsibba has been retaken about 5 times already, i dont think enemy losses are that high. I will wait a few days before counting any hatched chickens because jaf can easily counterattack and retake for the 100th time. Overlooking turkish border and completely sealing it are 2 wholly different things. There are tons of villages and rebels left, turkish army pigs keep resupplying and helping directly and indirectly, and kabani and ikko have not… Read more »

We’re getting some sexy a*s progress here. Well, it will probably be undone within an hour, as has been known, but hopefully they hold on and follow through with this offensive; shut down the d**n region.

Jesus Mary Joseph Stalin! What you call opposition are nothing else than nazislamists and you a*s in on their line too! USAF should help Putin into terminating them! If they all think like that in Washington’s think tanks, it’s no surprise that US forein policy is a total failure for more than 50 years since LBJ did his coup against JFK! Let me tell you what both Putin and YPG are doing. It’s simply saving your a*s! And mine too! Let me tell you that your “opposition” is nothing else than al-Qaeda deceiving you under hundreds of names… Give’em an… Read more »
