BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops near Manbij have been ordered to stand their ground against any Turkish aggression, a source from the military told Al-Masdar News today.
According to the military source, the Syrian Arab Army’s 1st Armored Division and Republican Guard forces have been ordered by their high command to remain at their posts and foil any attack by the Turkish-backed rebels.
The Syrian Arab Army has been on high alert around Manbij since the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) began moving their troops towards the northern axis of the city.
On Friday, the Free Syrian Army announced that they had begun their battle to capture Manbij, despite not actually launching attack on the city.
The situation is still very tense around Manbij, especially since the U.S. Coalition is still active inside the city itself.
