BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:05 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their large-scale advance in the Homs Governorate on Friday, targeting the southeastern part of Syria’s largest territorial province.
Led by the 1st Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the Islamic State’s defenses approximately 13km south of the T-4 Military, capturing several gas wells en route to reaching the Al-Ba’ir Al-Mar area of southeast Homs.
At approximately 3:00 P.M. (Damascus Time), the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command announced that their full control over the Al-Ba’ir Al-Mar area, killing and wounding a large number of Islamic State terrorists in the process.
The video footage above was captured by Hezbollah’s media wing on Friday; it shows the Syrian Arab Army’s advance through the Syrian Desert.
As a result of Friday’s gains, the Syrian Arab Army is now 20 km south of the T-4 Military Airport and a considerable distance from the ancient Assyrian city of Quraytayn.
