BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:55 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside Liwaa Al-Quds, launched another attack on the strategic hilltop of Tal Shuwayhnah in west Aleppo yesterday, targeting the jihadist defenses at the eastern axis of this site.
Beginning in the morning hours, the SAA’s 30th Division of the Republican Guard – supported by Liwa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary) – attacked rebel-held positions at Tal Shuwayhnah, an imperative hill on the western outskirts of Aleppo city.
Unable to break-through the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) main defensive line, the Syrian Arab Army and Liwaa Al-Quds were forced to withdraw after suffering 11 casualties during the battle.
The Syrian Arab Army is expected to launch another attack on Tal Shuwayhnah in the coming hours, as they look to expand their presence in the western part of Aleppo.
