BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:10 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their offensive along the Homs-Deir Ezzor Highway, Thursday, striking the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions near the Arak Gas Fields.

Led by their 5th Corps, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the remaining hilltops overlooking the Arak Gas Fields, inflicting heavy damage on the terrorist group’s defenses near the eastern wells.

According to a military source in Palmyra, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Corps seized several points from the Islamic State,today, including the imperative hilltop of Tal SyriaTel that overlooks the Arak Gas Fields.

The source added that with Tal SyriaTel under their control, the Syrian Arab Army should be able to liberate the eastern part of the Arak Gas Fields soon enough.
