BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:35 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their military operations in the western countryside of Palmyra (Tadmur) on Tuesday, striking the Islamic State (ISIS) forces near the Hayyan Gas Fields.

Led by the Russian-backed 5th Legion, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate several points around the Hayyan Gas Fields on Tuesday morning, killing and wounding a large number of Islamic State terrorists.

In addition to the ground gains, the Syrian Air Force also carried out a large number of airstrikes over the western countryside of Palmyra, destroying several terrorist installations in the Badiyah region.

With their recent gains today, the Syrian Arab Army is now in position to strike the Hayyan Gas Fields from two different axes, as they look to liberate the entire Badiyah region of east Homs.
