BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their large-scale offensive in southeast Syria, today, liberating more areas that were occupied by the Islamic State (ISIS).
Backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), the Syrian Army stormed the Islamic State’s defenses inside the northeastern part of Al-Sweida this morning.
Within a few hours of launching this attack, the Syrian Army and their allies were able to overwhelm the Islamic State terrorists and seize several hilltops and points.
According to a military source in Al-Sweida, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies managed to liberate Qous Abu Jabal and Tal Mughar after advancing from recently captured Khirbat Ambashi.
During the assault, the Syrian Army and their allies were able to kill seven Islamic State terrorists, while also seizing their weapons.
As a result of this latest advance, the Islamic State now controls less than 300 square kilometers of territory in the northeastern part of the Al-Sweida Governorate.
