BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their push along the Euphrates River, Saturday, liberating new territories from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terror group.
Led by elements of the Republican Guard and 17th Division, the the Syrian Army liberated the large hilltop of Tal Kuriya near the Euphrates River, killing and wounding several Islamic State terrorists in the process.
Following the liberation of Tal Kuriya, the Syrian Army continued to push along the western bank of the Euphrates, liberating several points around the key town of Jafra.
With only the river behind them, the Islamic State will likely resort to fleeing across the Euphrates in order to avoid being overrun by the Syrian Army.
