BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:35 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) finally achieved a major break-through in the eastern countryside of Homs today, liberating one of the most important areas south of the T-4 Military Airport.

Led by the 5th Legion and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), the Syrian Armed Forces entered the Qasr Al-Hayr area of east Homs last night, liberating most of it by   Wednesday morning.

The Syrian Armed Forces would liberate all of Qasr Al-Hayr this afternoon, following the collapse of the Islamic State’s (ISIS) final line of defense at the southern flank of this important area near the T-4 Airport and Al-Quraytayn.

In addition to liberating Qasr Al-Hayr, the Syrian Armed Forces also seized the small town of Ba’er Fiddah and its corresponding farms.

As a result of today’s advance, the Syrian Arab Army is now in position to attack the Al-Bardah area, which they already overlook from the northern flank.
