BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a fresh attack against the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization in the northeastern countryside of the Homs Governorate on Monday, targeting the region north of Al-Sukhnah.
Backed by the 3rd and 5th Corps, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces stormed the region north of Al-Sukhnah, scoring a large advance after a fierce battle with the Islamic State terrorists present in the area.
According to a military report, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate at least a half dozen hilltops and four villages in the Al-Sukhnah countryside on Monday, including Al-Qawir, Al-Kawir, Al-Altoum, and Daher Al-Matla’.
The Syrian Arab Army is now attempting to close the gap on the Islamic State’s final supply route to the northeastern countryside of the Homs Governorate.
