BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside Hezbollah and Liwaa Fatemiyoun, scored decisive gains on Saturday when their forces liberated most of the strategic Al-Hayl Gas Field in the eastern countryside of Homs.

Backed by heavy Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Corps and their allies penetrated through the Islamic State’s (ISIL) defenses from two different axes this morning, overrunning the terrorist group’s front-lines at the western perimeter of the gas field.

With their front-lines breached, the Islamic State had no choice but to withdraw to eastern part of the Al-Hayl Gas Field in order to salvage their last positions inside this site.

The liberation of most of the Al-Hayl Gas Field on Sunday puts the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in position to strike Sukhnah, which is strategically located along the Homs-Deir Ezzor Highway.
