BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:45 A.M.) – Over the course of three weeks, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has liberated a large chunk of territory in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, making this offensive the most successful assault this year.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army has reportedly liberated at least 30 villages in east Aleppo that covers much of the Al-Bab Plateau’s southern countryside.
With their backs against the wall in Al-Bab, the Islamic State (ISIS) forces have attempted to recapture much of the territory they lost to the Syrian Arab Army; however, these counter-attacks have mostly failed.
Making matters worse for the Islamic State forces, the Turkish Army is at the northern and eastern flanks of Al-Bab, leaving them very little hope of retreating from this area in the coming weeks.
