BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) unleashed a heavy assault across the western countryside of the Aleppo Governorate this morning, hitting several areas under the control of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
Using surface-to-surface missiles and heavy artillery, the Syrian Arab Army hammered Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions in the Anadan Plain, Rashideen suburb, and Khan Al-Assal.
The Syrian Arab Army is still pounding Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions as they retaliate for the jihadist group’s recent attacks.
In response to the Syrian Army’s attack this morning, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham fired several rockets and artillery shells towards the western districts of Aleppo city.
The jihadist rebels carried out several unprovoked attacks in Aleppo last week; this resulted in the death of 19 Syrian Arab Army soldiers and more than 15 civilians.
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham indiscriminately targeted the densely populated neighborhoods of Aleppo, causing significant damage to a number of buildings in the western districts.
