BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:15 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has been swiftly advancing though the east Aleppo countryside, liberating several villages and hilltops from the Islamic State (ISIL) forces near the strategic city of Deir Hafer.
Following their 72 hour hiatus in the east Aleppo countryside, the Syrian Arab Army resumed their large-scale offensive in the Deir Hafer Plain by attacking the Islamic State’s defenses at the village Rasm Al-Hermel Al-Imam.
Two hours after launching their assault, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces imposed full control over Rasm Al-Hermel, forcing the remaining Islamic State terrorists to retreat north towards the small village of Tabarat Al-Madi.
Within one of the Islamic State’s retreat to Tabarat Al-Madi, the Syrian Arab Army had already overrun the terrorist group’s defenses and announced its liberation.
The Syrian Arab Army’s gains on Tuesday have now placed them less than 5km away from the Islamic State’s east Aleppo stronghold of Deir Hafer, leaving only the small village of Rasm Al-Kroum between their positions and the city.
