BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:25 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) unleashed a wide-scale assault across the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate on Tuesday, targeting several areas controlled by the Turkestan Islamic Party and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
Led by their 4th Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army fire several missiles from their MLRS launchers, hitting a number of TIP and HTS targets at the towns of Al-Ziyara and Khirbet Naqous.
According to a military source near the battlefield in the northwestern part of Hama, the Syrian Arab Army launched this fresh assault after Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham attempted to avenge their losses from the night before.
On Monday, the Syrian Arab Army killed four members of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham near the large hilltop of Tal Sakhar in northwestern Hama.
This attack infuriated Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and resulted in the jihadist group launching several strikes on the government strongholds of Mhardeh, Suqaylabiyeh, and Salhab.
As a result of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s retaliatory attack, at least two civilians were killed and many more wounded.
