Latakia, Syria – After a week-long pause due to the ceasefire, the Syrian Armed Forces resumed their operations in the countryside of Latakia aiming for the expulsion of militants from the coastal province.

The Tufahiyah heights are the principal target for the ongoing operations as their capture would grant the Syrian Army full fire control over Kabanah, the last insurgent stronghold in the province.

Should the Syrian Armed Forces secure Kabanah, they would bypass the main obstacle on the path to Jisr Al-Shughour.

They must secure any gains and capture the rest of Latakia and then push to Jisr Al-Shughour. Regardless, there should be a a way to pincer the rats in Idlib.
