Hama, Syria (4:30 A.M.) The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF), launched a new offensive tonight in the southern countryside of the Hama Governorate, targeting the imperative village of Hirbnafseh, which is currently under the control of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jabhat Al-Nusra.
A military source in the southern countryside of Hama told Al-Masdar on Wednesday morning that the Syrian Armed Forces are currently storming the checkpoints located at the northern outskirts of Hirbnafseh, while the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) bombards the jihadist rebels in the Al-Rastan Plains.
So far, the Syrian Armed Forces made some gains near Hirbnafseh’s northern perimeter; however, they haven’t seized anything significant from the jihadist rebels.
In addition to the small gains made, the Syrian Armed Forces have killed 9 jihadists tonight, including Ahrar Al-Sham’s field commander Azzam Lattouf (AKA “Abu Mujahid).
Heavy clashes are still ongoing at the northern perimeter of Hirbnafseh, as the Syrian Armed Forces attempt to enter this key village located near the northern bank of the Orontes River.
