BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a new operation in southern Syria, Saturday, targeting a strategic mountain that is controlled by the Islamic State (ISIS).
Led by their 3rd, 10th, 14, and 15 divisions, the Syrian Arab Army began their operation on Saturday by storming the Islamic State’s positions at the Al-Safa Canyon.
According to a military source in Sweida, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the Islamic State’s positions from three different axes, scoring a new a 20 kilometer advance in the Bir Hussein area.
The source added that the Syrian Arab Army killed at least 20 Islamic State fighters during the advance, including 13 members of the terrorist group in the Bir Hussein area.
Furthermore, the Syrian Arab Army is now working on clearing the remaining territories near the Ard Al-Kara’ area near the strategic hilltop of Taloul Al-Safa.
