BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:35 P.M.) – Minutes ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s 1st Division and their allies launched a major operation from the Al-Dulayat area of southeast Homs to reach the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
Backed by Iraqi paramilitaries, Hezbollah, and Liwaa Fatemiyoun, the Syrian Arab Army began their operation by liberating approximately 17 km of territory near the Deir Ezzor provincial border.
According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies have now reached the outskirts of the Al-Saraym Canyon near the Deir Ezzor border after a short battle with the retreating Islamic State (ISIL) terrorists.
The Syrian Arab Army and their allies are taking advantage of the Islamic State’s crumbling defenses along the Homs-Deir Ezzor border to clear the occupied parts of the vast Syrian Desert.
