BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:20 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a new assault in the eastern suburbs of Damascus last night, striking the Islamist defenses at both Jobar and ‘Ayn Tarma.
Led by the 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard and 40th Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army began their assault in the eastern suburbs by firing more than 40 missiles at the Islamist defenses.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army was able to secure a big advance inside Jobar after forcing many of the Islamist rebels from Faylaq Al-Rahman to retreat during the missile bombardment.
The Syrian Arab Army is also engaged in a heated battle at ‘Ayn Tarma, where they are attempting to advance at several axes inside this Damascene suburb.
