BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:55 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a big assault in the southern countryside of Idlib, tonight, targeting the towns recently captured by the jihadist rebels near the Hama axis.

Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Army stormed the Tal Maraq area of southern Idlib, hitting the jihadist defenses at a number of towns during the twilight hours.

According to a military source in Hama, the Syrian Army attacked the jihadist defenses at the towns of Tal Maraq, Um Khalakhil, Al-Zarzour, and Khuwayn; this resulted in a fierce battle that is still ongoing at the moment.

No gains have been reported thus far.

Since launching their counter-assault yesterday, the Syrian Arab Army has managed to capture the towns of Al-Jadoudiyah, Al-Salomiyah, and ‘Atshan.
