BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:20 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a heavy attack across the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate this afternoon, targeting several areas controlled by both the jihadist and Turkish-backed rebels.

Led by their artillery teams, the Syrian Arab Army heavily targeted Jaysh Al-Izza and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham militants as far north as the strategic Jabal Al-Zawiya region in western Idlib.

According to a military report, the Syrian Arab Army scored several direct hits on Hay’at Tahrir All-Sham’s positions in Jabal Al-Zawiya; this resulted in a number of casualties for the jihadist group.

Furthermore, the Syrian Arab Army also heavily targeted the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

The report said that the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Division fired several artillery shells and surface-to-surface missiles towards Jaysh Al-Izza’s positions near the key town of Al-Latamnah.

Good move.
It’s essential for the Syrian Government and SAA preventing Turkey establishing control of Idlib. Once the Syrian Government has control of Idlib they can take their time about recovering other parts of N. Syria. But lose Idlib and you will always be worried about an invasion by Turkey, NATO, or foreign-backed jihadis.
Best wishes to the Syrian people and a better 2019

These SAA attacks are of little or none significance since terrorists are becoming stronger and more persistents. Really, terrorists attacks will happen anytime anywhere along the border of Idlib if SAA is not be able to get rid of them once for all. Unfortunatelly, Russia stopped SAA offensive on Idlib, and it looks like Russia will continue to do that to please Turkey.
